Many municipalities recognize the importance of managing rainwater on their own property and encourage their residents by providing subsidies. Such a subsidy offers you the opportunity to recover part of the cost of disconnecting and reusing rainwater!
In Alphen aan den Rijn residents can apply for a subsidy for greening their roof, replacing tiles in the garden for plants, rainwater harvesting: underground, with wadi or modular rainwater harvesting system. Up to 50% of the eligible costs (with a maximum total of €2,000 per house) can be applied for the purchase of materials needed to implement the measure. Consultancy costs of a roof support calculation of up to €200 is also covered, if the project is actually implemented.

30m2 of paving in the garden has been replaced for planting on the Rainup blue-green garden system
€30 perm2 replacement of tiles with plants: 10m2* €30 perm2 = €300.
€10 perm2 replacement of tiles with grass: 20m2* €10 perm2 = €200.
€5 perm2 of disconnected roof: 40m2 * €5 perm2= €200.
€225 perm3 of underground water buffering: 2.5m3* €225.00 = €562.50
Grant awarded: €1,262.50
Multiple applications can be made (maximum 1 application per measure) until the maximum is reached.
The rules of the 'General Administrative Law Act', the 'General Subsidy Ordinance Municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn 2020 and the 'Subsidy Ordinance Climate adaptive measures existing houses Alphen aan den Rijn 2020-2023' apply to this decision.
